The practice is situated on Burlington Road overlooking the park and lake. We are housed in a large Victorian building, with the doctors consulting and examination rooms all in a modern extension situated on the ground floor around a pleasant courtyard/garden area, together with the reception and patient waiting room. Consulting rooms for the nursing staff are also situated on the ground floor.

There is easy access for the disabled and wheelchairs, with disabled toilets also available. There is a patient car park at the front of the building. A pharmacy is attached to the practice. There are six doctors in the practice, four male doctors and two female doctors. We also have a full compliment of other Health Professionals including District nurses, Health visitors and Midwives who offer a full range of care and Health promotion clinics. Other services provided include Counselling, Dietician, Citizens advice bureau and a private Chiropractor.

The practice area is centred on Buxton and extends about 10 miles in each direction. Evening appointments are also available in addition to usual daytime surgeries. Patients are encouraged to be involved with the practice through our patient participation group.

Elmwood Medical Centre offers a friendly welcome to new patients, and new patients are encouraged to arrange a medical check-up with one of our practice nurses.

The practice provides a comprehensive range of medical services, including Child Health Surveillance, Contraception advice and Minor Surgery
